I personally love using black to bring out the other colors in the design and I believe it works well (when used moderately) to strengthen a design and tie everything together.

Distressed wood elements add the charm and character of the Farmhouse style and the overall aesthetic is elevated with the addition of sleek, modern design elements. A good balance of both styles is key to accomplishing a cohesive look and feel in your space. One thing I would strongly suggest is to avoid using modern elements with high-gloss finishes, they a little too sleek and don’t blend well with the farmhouse style.

Embracing the open concept floor plan, an attribute of modern design, while incorporating classic farmhouse features like exposed beams or shiplap walls will also help achieve a beautiful blend of the two design styles. This creates a seamless flow between spaces, providing a perfect balance of contemporary functionality and rustic charm.
